3 Easy Steps to Clean Essential Oil Bottles
- Step 1:
- Take your empty essential oil bottles apart and let them sit in a bowl of epsom salts for a minimum of 48 hours (or until you’re ready to reuse the empty bottles).
- Step 2:
- Soak your empty essential oil bottles in 2 – 3 tbsp of white vinegar, added to hot water, for an hour.
- Step 3:
- Rinse your empty essential oil bottles and ta-da!
When cleaning your empty essential oil bottles be sure not to use residual scents. Now you’re ready to fill up your empty oil bottles with your own essential oil blends. I have used these bottle to add a carrier oil with an essential oil with a roller top to give to friends as a sample. You can also experiment with your own blends of oils by combining some of your favorite oils. For instance, Christmas Spirit is a blend of orange, cinnamon and spruce essential oils. What if you were to add wintergreen essential oil as well? And the best part is, you get to use your epsom salts for a nice essential oil scented bath!
